Tell Me About "A" is for Allah

"A" is for Allah is a t-shirt line whose goal is to:

help promote pride in the deen (religion) of Islam,
act as a starting point for dawa (inviting others to Islam), and
aid in promoting understanding of Islam by non-Muslims.

The t-shirt sayings pair English with the transliteration (phonetic spelling) of Arabic words commonly used by Muslims in English speaking countries.

Sounds Like that Yusuf Islam Song

I love that song, but this t-shirt line is not affiliated with Yusuf Islam's widely acclaimed "A is for Allah" book or recording. (As-salaamu Alaikum, Yusuf! Email me!) While Bro. Islam uses the Arabic alphabet, we use the English alphabet because English is the language I use most often. For example: Bro. Islam says "Tha is for Thikr" in his song, but there is no letter like "Tha" in the English alphabet. In addition, some of the words I chose are different. For example, while he says "Ka is for kalima", I prefer the word "ka'ba" for the k-sound commonly used in the English alphabet.
